Manutara Ventures, ACVC partner, organized with our support Tim Draper’s visit to Chile on March 18 and 19 in conjunction with a network of more than 25 investors from Venture Capital’s global network, Draper Venture Network. During the visit, events were held with the actors of the entrepreneurship ecosystem at the national level; investors, entrepreneurs, government, FFOO, legal structure, etc., in order to raise a conversation regarding good practices in the industry, opportunities / gaps and shared experiences, which are undoubtedly an important boost for the growth of investment in venture capital in Chile. The itinerary included an introductory seminar to the national reality and presentation of Tim in his work as an investor, a lunch with different types of investors to publicize the asset from a global perspective, a meeting on the currency with the president of the republic Sebastián Piñera to discuss public policies that would allow a better development of the industry, a reception at the American embassy and a visit to the Chile Global Ventures locations to connect with entrepreneurs, among other activities.
The visit was carried out successfully, with Tim Draper concluding that “Now is the time”, as a country and after getting to know its reality closely, realizes that the economic, political, legal reality and the good level of entrepreneurs and connections, makes Chile the ideal investment platform in Venture Capital for Latam.
