Once again the VC Latam Summit was a success

More than 300 participants attended the second version of the VC Latam Summit. The event held in Miami brought together 180 GPs and 80 LPs from the region, all members of the nine organizing associations; ACVC, ARCAP, ABVCAP, COLCAPITAL, ECUACAP, AMEXCAP, PARCAPY, PECAP and Uruguay XXI.

Various activities provided networking opportunities and the opportunity to learn about the evolution of VC in the region and what is expected for 2022. Carlos Ramos de la Vega, Director of Venture Capital at LAVCA, was one of the speakers.

Manuel Medina, founder of Medina Capital and eMerge Americas, also had his contribution in a relaxed conversation with Francisco Guzmán, president of the ACVC. In it he assured that investors are realizing all the talent that exists in Latin America.
Another activity was the speed dating, where GPs and LPs had the opportunity to make investment matches. In addition, in a demo day organized by Amazon Web Services (AWS), investors were able to witness the pitches of nine startups selected for the occasion. Chile was represented by Keirón.

BID Lab held a cocktail, where CEO Irene Arias Hofman interviewed Brian Requarth, co-founder of Latitud. Microsoft for Startups was responsible for the Fireside Chat. Moderated by Mariano Amartino, managing director of MFS, it was attended by Erich Archer, general partner of Monashees; Javier Villamizar, CEO of SoftBank Group Corp; Ana Laura Fernandez, deputy director of Impact Investments of Mexico Fund of Funds; and Andy Tsao, managing director of Silicon Valley Bank.

The event, which has become the most important industry event in #Latin America, would not have been possible without the sponsorship of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Banco Bci, Carey, Microsoft for Startups and Silicon Valley Bank, in addition to Andersen, EY, Brown Rudnick LLP, Saleforce-test, HubTec Chile and Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. BID Lab and LAVCA also collaborated.
