Four laws are urgently needed to ensure that the country's innovation ecosystem continues to grow.
El Mercurio's Innovation analyzed where the legal gaps are and identified the four most important areas: fintech industry, collective interest benefit companies, public procurement and the Fund of Funds.
"We are at a crucial moment in which we are able to take a step forward and empower the venture capital industry. We are at a key moment to consolidate the progress made to date and make the leap towards a sophisticated and large-scale venture capital industry," said Francisco Guzmán, president of the Chilean Venture Capital Association (ACVC).
Andrés Meirovich, director of the ACVC, said that Chile must become an investment hub: "The development of an adequate financial industry will generate more startups, and that is what we are looking for, understanding the impact they have on the economy".
