Southern Cone Investment Forum: FICS2020

The Southern Cone Investment Forum 2020 (FICS2020), organized jointly by ARCAP (Argentine Association of Private Equity, Entrepreneurship and Seed Capital), the Chilean Venture Capital Association (ACVC) and the Investment Promotion, Exports and Country Image agency Uruguay XXI, is the largest gathering of the private equity and venture capital industry in South America.

On the first day of the event we had a large number of attendees and an agenda of global players in the industry. Among them Yigal Erlich, founder of Israel's Venture Capital industry, commented on the details of how this country has become a global leader in the sector.

Other participants included Jorge Argüello, Argentina's ambassador to the United States; Luis Felipe Oliva, Corfo's financing and investment manager; Martín Benítez, from Uruguay XXI, among others.

The second day of the forum was highlighted by the participation of the co-author of Startup Nation, Saul Singer. He was one of the 30 panelists who participated in some twenty panels on private equity and venture capital .

Among the latter, the session on "Fund Managers of the Southern Cone" was moderated by Isabelle Chaquiriand, with the participation of Antonia Rojas, from ALLVP; Luis Bermejo, from Alaya Capital Partners; and Valentina Terranova, from Draper Cygnus.
