The Chilean Venture Capital Association (ACVC) launched its 2020 report. In it you can find revealing data about the venture capital industry, as well as theinnovation ecosystem; how much was invested, how many startups went through acceleration and incubation stages, and how much investment each sector registered, among others.
Currently, the VC industry in Chile is one of the most developed in Latin America. In 2020 the country reached a record investment of US$160 million, which were distributed in 89 deals, with an average investment ticket of US$ 1.8 million. With respect to 2019, investment grew by 153%, but in 2021 it will grow even more.
The Economist ranks Chile as the second best country to invest in Latin America and with the greatest potential to attract foreign investors. In the Economist Intelligence Unit report: "Populism and Politics: Operational Risk in Latin America", Chile obtains a score of 25 out of 100, in a ranking where 100 is the maximum risk.
