Manutara Ventures, ACVC partner, organized with our support the visit of Tim Draper to Chile on March 18th and 19th, together with a network of more than 25 investors from the global Venture Capital network, Draper Venture Network. The visit included events with the actors of the national entrepreneurship ecosystem; investors, entrepreneurs, government, FFOO, legal structure, etc, in order to raise a conversation regarding best practices in the industry, opportunities/gaps and shared experiences, which undoubtedly are an important impetus for the growth of venture capital investment in Chile. The itinerary included an introductory seminar to the national reality and presentation of Tim in his work as an investor, a lunch with different types of investors to present the asset from a global perspective, a meeting in the currency with the president of the republic Sebastián Piñera to discuss public policies that would allow a better development of the industry, a reception at the American embassy and a visit to the locations of Chile Global Ventures to connect with entrepreneurs, among other activities.
The visit was successfully developed, concluding by Tim Draper, that "Now is the time", as a country and after knowing closely its reality, realizes that the economic, political, legal reality and the good level of entrepreneurs and connections, makes Chile the ideal platform for investment in Venture Capital for Latam.
