New ACVC directors

Innovation El Mercurio dedicated its latest edition to women, and interviewed the three new members of the ACVC board: Antonia Brahm, General Manager of Nakama Ventures; Lorena González, Investment Associate of Aurus; and Evelyn Von Bischhoffshausen, General Partner of Kayyak Ventures.

"The current participation of women in the venture capital world is very low. In developed countries, between 10% and 15% of investment funds have female partners, while in Latin America this percentage is significantly lower. In fact, in Chile there are very few women leading investment funds or participating in their decision making. I am very concerned about this, as having more women investors would help to increase the proportion of women-led ventures," said Evelyn Von Bischhoffshausen regarding the gender gap in the ecosystem.

Lorena González said, referring to how to promote the incorporation of women in the sector, that: "Having women leading funds that inspire and are a living testimony that it is possible to actively participate in the industry, at all levels, allows more women to want to join this world that until recently was quite unknown," she said.

"We bring a diversity of perspectives and experiences to decision making. In addition, we women also tend to have a more collaborative and problem-solving oriented approach, which can improve the performance of investment portfolios," said Antonia Brahm in commenting on what women can bring to VC.
